WHAT IS CYBERPALS?
CyberPals are consumers and volunteers of disAbility Resource Center who participate in an on-line support network. This is accomplished through a Group on Facebook.
WHO CAN JOIN CYBERPALS?
Individuals with disabilities who have a computer can participate in the Cyberpals facebook group. If you do not have your own computer, DisAbility Resource Center offers refurbished equipment for a nominal fee. DisAbility Resource Center also offers Basic Computer Skills, Internet Safety Classes, and other related classes!

F.A.Q. about CyberPals
Who can apply for CyberPals? A person that has any type of disability is eligible. There are no income limits.
Cost? $65.00 or 10 hours of volunteer service to any community service organization in the area.
What type of computer do I get? The CyberPals Computers are refurbished and typically 500 MHz or above and comes loaded with a Windows Operating System. Included in the software are games, anti-virus, spy-ware and office programs.
How do I get Internet Service? Consumers have the choice to use Dial-up or Broadband Services such as DSL or Cable.
Is there a warranty? Yes, sixty days from delivery if you take the Basic Computer Skills Class.
What about training? We offer computer training in our computer lab.
CyberPals communicate with each other via email or Facebook.
Come in and volunteer.
We need volunteers to refurbish computers, provide tech support, and to train consumers to use the Internet and e-mail.

Recycling your computer is a great way to offer people in your community access to technology.
What computer equipment is needed for reuse?
Laptops, computers, mice, keyboards and power cords. We also accept computer parts such as hard drives, memory, dvd drives, network cards, routers, hubs, switches, etc.
***Laptops are in very high demand, as are 17-inch or larger working monitors.***

These are the basic symptoms or characteristics of an infected computer, but can be failing hardware also.
It can disable many important applications and programs, and can even corrupt physical hardware on your machine. As a result of these symptoms of computer viruses the workability of a machine gets seriously disabled, and it becomes impossible to perform any task at all. Eventually if you do not remove these virus and spyware your computer will not function at all. And your important data on your computer,,,, hopefully your data back up is current.
